Innovative, multifaceted and passionate about her career, Queen Atapka is a quintessential stylist and hair artist; using hair as her canvas to bring a distinctive aesthetic and fresh approach flawlessly illustrating each client’s unique beauty.
Queen draws inspiration from her travels around the world, and earns the devotion of her clients through her expert blend of classic technique and modern style.
On the path towards a career in nursing, Queen discovered her passion for hair was too strong to ignore. After receiving her Cosmetology license, she relocated to New York City to undergo training at Vidal Sassoon. It is there, where she developed and mastered her skill of precision hair cutting for multiethnic women and men with various hair textures. During her time in New York, she was chosen to be a stylist at New York fashion Week, where she had the honor of working alongside some of the industry’s most prominent stylists.
Queen credits her wide-ranging knowledge and education as the key to her success. She believes that one’s quest for knowledge should be infinite and therefore stays on top of the trends with continued education.
Today, Queen operates her own business, Refined Artistry®. Also, she is a certified stylist for Forever Curls Academy and a proud Cut it Kinky Alumni. As she continues to travel the world and glean nuggets within the industry, it is her goal to share all that she has learned.
